MOSS SUPPLIES
HOME
Keeping your topiary “as is” requires minimal care. Sunlight and time will naturally turn the green moss brown, so we suggest that you try to keep it out of direct sun and heat, and "green" it up when necessary. It does not need watering. When your topiary appears to be losing its color, we suggest that you apply Moss Green to help keep it vibrant and appealing.

A mossed topiary can be converted into a planted topiary with little work. You will need on hand, a healthy ivy or creeping vine in a starter pot.
Simply Plant and Grow
To Plant From Outside The Form (Recommended)

1. Soak the moss filled form in water and let drain

. Create a hole in the moss large enough to accommodate the size of the root of your chosen plant.

. Remove your plant from it’s pot and recycle most of the soil from the roots. If your plant is well established you may want to trim some of the excess root as this will encourage vigorus root growth.

. Insert the plant into the hole you created in the moss and tightly repack the moss around the roots.

. You may find that a 2” or greater potted plant has overgrown itself. Many plants can be divided into several smaller sections which will allow you to space your plants out giving greater surface area coverage and a more completed looking topiary.

. Plant these smaller separated sections following steps 2 to 4. Ferning pins may be required if your plants are installed on a more vertical surface. This will hold the plant in place while they root.

MAINTAINING YOUR TOPIARY
. Once you have your topiary planted, water with a good starter fertilizer (10-52-10) and keep in a shaded area out of the wind for several days before moving to the selected area in your garden.
. Check for water as you would a hanging basket. Fertilize every other week with a balanced 20-20-20 fertilizer.
. Remember each plant has it’s own unique water requirements. Plant accordingly to ensure success.
